Ferdinand Marcos and Martial Law

Memories of Marcos Regime

I sat down from one side,
While my grandmother stood beside,
We look at the setting sun together,
Only those who tremble with us are silence,
When she suddenly mentioned her experience,
In martial law and the administration of Ferdinand Marcos,
As I listen and watch her,
In her eyes filled with tears,

As if to say that the experience of martial law was difficult,
My grandmother started to talk,
Ferdinand Marcos was a great president,
That's what she said,
Good to manage,
Great leader of a nation,
But as time went on martial law became a nightmare,
Many died and were frightened,

But people were disciplined then,
There was a good times in martial law,
Grandma said, It is said that it only became bad in the eyes of the people,
because they thought it was a tragedy that would take their lives,

It brings them good,
They not only see it,
Because they are blind to reality,
My grandmother said to me,

Every word she utters is heavy,
Provides lessons and inspiration,
That we should pay attention,
Suddenly I stopped thinking,
When she called me by my name,

Are you still listening to my story?
Suddenly I fell silent,
let's go we will eat,
Let's just continue later,
All right, grandma, I said with a smile on my lips.
